TOWNHOUSE Space, the hybrid Bangkok-based creative and cultural hub of multitasking creative director Rom Sangkavatana, has reinvented itself, hosting a new exhibition on the premises of its multi-storey venue in the city’s buzzing Ari district. The showcase, entitled Artful Home, presents art from a different perspective and context, and in this case, a 30-year-old New York City townhouse. So, what’s cookin’? An eclectic mix of art and products, such as furniture and jewellery, all dotted across the entire TOWNHOUSE Space. There’ll be a showcase of artist X Space‘s body of artworks which also includes over 40 pieces of by other local artists, such as Myrtille Tibayrenc, Aimi Kaiya, and Nino Sarabutra.
Additionally, a number of special artists have been selected by the affiliated TOWNHOUSE Agency to put their work on display, including fast-rising talent Aphisit Sidsunthia who is about to for overseas, taking up an artist residency in Shanghai. Mind you, all the works on display can be purchased. Do we hear you say fashion? There’ll be plenty of edgy brands on display, including Téchin Underground and Antwerp-based jewellery designer Ek Thongprasert‘s new fashion label Collector Project. Design aficionados can indulge in furniture by PDM Brand and Comfyhomies, in addition to an assortment of products by Aibelle, MMMarket and Myth Studios (on through Oct 31).

Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
