ever since its foundation in the early 1980s, swatch has been making some striking watches. one of the brand's brilliant ideas was the launch of the swatch creart collection in 1986. artist keith haring designed the first series of timepieces that gave audiences across the planet the opportunity to purchase wearable art. continuing the creart collection tradition, swatch now releases two models designed by new york's billy the artist. dubbed morning glow and after dark [this one has a limited edition of 11,111!], the watches are a full-on representation of the artist's striking graffiti style. billy the artist and mitchell jarvis of the rock of ages broadway show will do a live painting session at the swatch times square store in new york on wed - jul 15 [noon-5pm]. the painting will be donated to broadway cares/equity fights aids for auction later this year. store location: 1528 broadway [times square].
