although the master has left the company a little while ago, the issey miyake brand remains a creative force to be reckoned with, especially in japan. churning out various collections each season and maintaining a sizeable network of stores nationwide, it's right here in the homeland where issey miyake arguably is the most popular. among the retail network the so-called elttob tep stores in tokyo [1] and in osaka [2] have a flagship status, and it's here where the splendour of the issey miyake brand is most visible. their interiors are supersleek and they stock all of the brand's men's and women's apparel, accessories, bag and fragrance collections. currently on display at both elttob tep stores are nifty installations by tokyo-based industrial designer ryuji nakamura. made from cardboard, the installation is inspired by the triangle theme of the a/w 2014 collection of the 132 5. issey miyake women's line. the installations serve as a fitting backdrop for the collection in both stores [on through oct 31]. location [1]: 4-4-5 ginza [ginza]. location [2]: 4-11-28 minami senba [minami senba].
