tokyo: kinfolk - the shared table

kinfolk is a print publication based in portland. the quarterly magazine is about inspiring creative individuals to discover things to cook, create and do. it features photo series, recipes, essays and lists on the subjects of food, community, family, friends, traditions and understanding the the world we live in. founded by couple nathan and katie williams, the team behind the magazine has grown to 12 people, and for eachnew issue they call on over 50 different contributors. currently on at diesel art gallery is the first kinfolk photo exhibition featuring two photographers, carissa gallo and laura dart, who have been with kinfolk right from the very beginning. entitled kinfolk - the shared table, it features a homey installation of sorts which not only represents the magazine's attitude towards collaborating with photographers, writers, stylists, chefs and many more people from around the planet, but also aims to invite visitors to sit down at the dinner table and share this specific vision [on through aug 15]. location: cocoti building, 1-23-16-b1f shibuya [shibuya].
