henrik vibskov may be best known for his playful fashion designs, his imagination and expertise is of such magnitude that it straddles a string of other disciplines. a graduate from london's prestigious central st. martins in 2001, vibskov since then designed 20 collections since. his signature approach to fashion stems from his interests in many fields, resulting in many showcases and performances in dance, theatre and also music at leading venues across the planet. vibskov currently has a solo exhibition at galerie des galeries, the exhibition space of department store galeries lafayette in paris. dubbed neck plus ultra, the show title is a play on words between the latin motto nec plus ultra - meaning 'nothing farther beyond' - and the word neck as an anatomical reference to the neck-like objects that make up parts of this exhibition.

it so happens that the word neck is also included in the stiff neck chamber, the title of the designer's a/w 2013 collection that was shown last month at paris fashion week. playful and poetic with an off-beat undertone, vibskov immerses visitors to what inspires and influences him. the showcase is a collective installation of various colours, geometrical shapes and refined work on textile that tickles all of your senses [on through apr 5]. location: galeries lafayette, 40 boulevard haussmann, 2nd floor [st.-honoré].
