artist ai wei wei's legacy is impressive in more ways than one. as a political activist he often uses his art to vent his criticism against anomalies in the rule of chinese authorities. since his return from the u.s. to beijing in 1993, he has meticulously documented urban and social realities in china, discussing it on blogs and twitter. currently on at jeu de paume in paris is entrelac, the artist's first major exhibition of photographs and videos. on display are photographs of radical urban transformation, of the search for earthquake victims, and the destruction of his studio in shanghai together with his art photography projects, the documenta project fairytale, in addition to various blog and cell phone photographs [on through apr 29]. location: 1 place de la concorde [st.-honoré].
