it has only been a little while since we talked about harmony, a new french contemporary brand, in a previous post. the latest venture by young fashion entrepreneur david obadia of previous bwgh fame, the brand is going places - and we mean that literally - entering the city of light's flourishing retail arena with a store of its own. situated in the buzzing marais amidst an abundance of other cool boutiques, the harmony store officially opens its doors on thu - nov 23, and adds up to the area's status as a highly popular shopping destination with a distinctive shop interior by stéphane bauche, wandrille marchais and david dottelonde of paris-based practice l'atelier senzu. similar to harmony's men's and women's collections, the aesthetic is understated but with a soft and artsy twist that emanates it a welcoming vibe. the walls of the shop are optical white, paired with flooring made from light grey waxed concrete. this subtle palette of monochromes is used as canvas for added fixtures, such as clothing racks, or to highlight a counter. the gallery metaphor extends to the presentation cubes - or should we say pedestals? - on folded garments are presented. location: 1 rue commines [marais].
