summer is the season to go barefoot...but not quite. nifty designer tull price established his brand feit as a reaction to blatant consumerism and production, and has continuously developed a range of shoes that reflect longevity, contemporary artisanal design and minimal luxury. anticipating the sunny days ahead, the new york city-based designer has reinterpreted a staple of summer gear, the flip flop, in an inimitable way. returning to its traditional japanese roots, the feit flip flops are unisex and come in bamboo, a sustainable material that's naturally water resistant, and both incredibly flexible and strong. the sole is formed from three layers of bamboo that are molded by hand to fit the shape of the foot, with a rubber insert at the flex point for comfort, and a vibram outsole provides traction and protects the bamboo from wearing down. the straps are vegetable-tanned leather and suede, and will soften and patina with wear. the feit flip flops are obviously available at the brand's stores in new york and sydney, but can also be purchased online.
