retrosuperfuture's shades have been a prerequisite item in hipster scenes across the planet for quite some time now. taking matters to another level, the milan-based brand has recently launched its very first flagship store in soho. designed in collab with italian architect andrea caputo, the elongated, lofty retail space has been stripped and only a minimal of essential layerings have been added to retain that appealing industrial edge. upon entering the store, a brightly lit gallery of sunglasses leads shoppers into heart of the store where even more models are showcased on rows of sleek wooden cabinets with mirrors installed on top. with only three windows at the back of the store, lighting is key in the interior design, and there's ample of it, strategically installed across the ceiling. separated by a low brick wall is a showroom section, furnished with a sizeable table and vitra chairs, and an expansive back-lit wall with a decorative shelving system attached to it. retrosuperfuture has released the novanta shades, a brand new model that has been customized exclusively for the store. location: 21 howard street [soho].
