Following a major corporate restructuring and a much publicised exit of creative director Bruno Sialelli earlier this year, Lanvin‘s relocation of its high-profile boutique on a highly prestigious stretch of Madison Avenue in New York City is a clear sign of new self-confidence. Occupying approx. 200 sqm. (2,150 sq.ft.) unit on the ground floor of an eleven-storey brick structure built in 1928, the boutique features a monochrome beige interior design by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois. Large windows allow passers-by ample peeks of the of the store settings which are inspired by Neoclassicism and Art Deco, two periods integral to the heritage of the Paris-based fashion house. At the same time, the chosen aesthetic also echoes the works of architects Auguste Perret and Eckart Muthesius.

Although largely understated, the premises see elements of classical architecture, such as enfilades, symmetries, columns, and architraves. The store is dotted with a variety custom-designed furniture pieces, all interspersed with a curated collection of objects from Lanvin‘s archives and select design galleries. The material palette adds to the solemn elegance of each setting, and includes oxidised and hammered brass, limestone, marmorino, and an abundance of beige velvet. Given the location in a highly affluent neighbourhood of New York City, the store comes with a private salon for formal and occasion dressing. The new Lanvin store carries the brand’s women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, bags and shoes, in addition to pieces from the Lanvin Lab collection.
