munich: craig & karl x bavarian state opera

when approached by the prestigious bayerische staatsoper in munich, creative duo craig & karl were initially somewhat hesitant. not much familiar with opera and classical music, they soon found out there's more depth to the matter than the clichés that surround it. in collab with local creative agency bureau mirko borsche, the boys created a series of signature designs that have been used on the venue's recent opera and orchestra poster campaigns. the designs have a clear delineation between the two components to the season.

bolder and more expansive palettes were used for the concert series, while the ones for the opera series make use of more limited palettes, usually just two or three colours. the artwork for the concert series is inspired by the sounds and emotions related to each performance and the opera artwork draws more directly from each performance's central themes. so, if you're in town you'll be able to spot craig & karl's posters around town and in printed media accross germany.
