milan: sol lewitt

anyone heading for this year's edition of milan's salone del mobile should definitely drop by cardi gallery for the final days of this stellar sol lewitt showcase. a true master of minimal and conceptual art, lewitt [1928-2007] has dabbled in a wide range of disciplines, ranging from drawing, photography and painting, but is arguably best known across the planet for his range of abstract sculptures. the gallery, known for its impressive portfolio of leading contemporary artists from italy and abroad, presents a selection of 13 of the artist's works from the 1960s to the 2000s. on display is a mix of lewitt's iconic sculptures, paired with his lesser known, colour-infused gouaches that he made in the final period of his life and which signal a new creative trajectory in his career [on through apr 15]. location: corso di porta nuova 38 [porta nuova].
