italian fashion brand marni presents a new edition of its 100 chairs project at this year's edition of the salone del mobile in milan. launched last year, the collection consists of chairs, various chaises-longue, rocking chairs and tables, and now also includes models in bright colours designed for kids. the showcase features sitting rooms in colour variations and furnished with new models, woven patterns and combinations. once again the collection has been entirely made by hand in colombia by ex-prisoners, and aims to reinforce their reintegration into social and working life. another marni presentation is abi-tanti, a collab project with castello di rivoli's education department, and which calls into play the concepts of identity and difference.

on display are are small objects in form of humanoids/robots with arms, bodies, heads and feet, all made of industrial waste in the shape of small sticks, spheres, semi-spheres and cubes, and on apr 13-14 there'll be a workshop that allows visitors to create an object of their own [on through apr 14]. both showcases are held at the newly opened spazio marni, located on the premises of a 1920s factory complex which once belonged to legendary night haunt café atlantique. the space measures 1,000 sqm. [10,764 sq.ft.] and has been meticulously renovated, leaving the structure's geometric lines and many of its original elements intact. the new venue is  to accomodate marni's showroom, future catwalk shows and other projects. location: viale umbria 42 [porta vittoria].
