with this year's edition of the london design festival coming up, an abundance of interesting events have been programmed at venues across town. part of the official program is +_ plus minus, a creative collab of works by three designers: naama hofman, nir adoni and dave cranmer. the show presents sustainable design and contemporary objects, using an interactive and innovative application of emerging technology. curated by liat chen, the showcase opens thu - sep 11 at the book club in shoreditch. hofman creates objects which contain light, all illuminated by led’s,, which with the help of a minimalist structure, diffuse a soft and even light. nir adoni's work examines the relationship between man and constructed environments. he believes that architecture plays a powerful role in the way we live, and that the space around us dictates our approach and understanding of the world. dave cranmer has been creating electronic and mechanical sculptures since 1998, and at the show a terrifying robotic crow will be shown. the crow appeared in a dream, or rather nightmare, demanding in hideous croaking voice that work should begin on its construction, otherwise there would be severe consequences. location: the book club, 100-106 leonard street [shoreditch].
