in celebration of this year's edition of the frieze art fair, one of the planet's most significant ones on the calendar, dover street market launches a specially created set-up today [5pm-8pm] at its store in the british capital. appropriately called the frieze open house, it features new presentations by various designers and brands. so, what's cookin'? the action kicks off on street level where the store's artistic director rei kawakubo has created a striking window installation in collab with japanese manga artist katsuhiro otomo. elsewhere on the premises designer aitor throup presents his new object research installation with exclusive products, the nike hyperfeel running shoe is showcased with a special installation, italian designer giambattista valli drops by to sign his new book, and tar magazine and michael hoppen gallery collectively take over the idea books section to celebrate vernacular photography from the 20th century. rose bakery on the store's top floor pitches in with complimentary food and drinks. location: 17-18 dover street [mayfair].
