19 greek street is a new hub for international contemporary design in london's soho area. occupying a multi-storey victorian townhouse, it's home to an eclectic mix of collections and regularly hosts interesting exhibitions of interesting design from across the planet. currently on at 19 greek street is designing the middle east - beirut, the latest installment of an exhibition series that celebrates the region's creattivity, and one that features the works of lebanese designer karen chekerdjian. after graduating from domus academy in milan, chekerdjian worked in italy fro a number of years and returned to beirut where she set up her own studio and store. the designer regularly participates in leading international design fairs and has had exhibitions at galleries across the planet. on display at 19 greek street is a variety of concoctions, from the pouf, a contemporary interpretation in beaten metal of the low, cushioned seats found in the middle east, to the derbakeh table + stool set and other designs [on through jul 19]. location: 19 greek street [soho].
