a graduate in visual communication design from tokyo's renowned musashino art university, artist yoshihiro kikuchi [1980] is known for his eclectic style in drawings, collages, paintings and installations, in addition to stints as a composer, dj and drummer. the multitasker currently has a solo exhibition at aishonanzuka, an art gallery in hong kong with a penchant for both emerging artists and quirky creatives. the showcase is entitled dldap / enogo / auxar / dgaen, and is kikuchi's second presentation at the venue. the peculiar title is derived from the show's keywords dead, language, dox and porn, and also indicate the creative process of the works on display. the canvases on display depict the deconstruction of specific human characteristics, resulting in an intriguing visual mash-up of elements with strong infusion of porn. the contrast of ideas lies at the foundation of this body of work, and is once again exemplary of kikuchi's eclectic artistic vision [on through jul 23]. location: regency centre9 wong chuk hang road, phase 1, unit 13a [aberdeen].
