global: linjer leather goods

the world of men's luxury leather goods is typically bound to vertiginous price tags, conspicuous logos, and in many cases, less than desirable design. finding well-crafted, affordable men's leather accessories is an ongoing crisis for most of us, with little in the way of a cost effective solution. a lot of the time you're better off just using your jacket pockets, but at some point, we all want a better solution. enter linjer, a newcomer to one of the fastest growing items in the luxury market - the man bag.

the brand was founded by norwegian roman khan and hong konger/canadian jennifer chong, who both have a hard time digesting the often exorbitant prices attached to men's leather goods. the duo aspired to create a line of good quality, long-lasting luggage pieces that are as minimal and functional in design as they are in price. the brand uses the same materials and factories as many of the well known luxe lines, but were determined to find a way to sell to consumers minus the ubiquitous middle-man mark up and million dollar marketing.

by retailing directly to consumers, linjer offer simple, practical, well made leather goods putting the budget conscious gent in first place. their first collection is comprised of six essential items - cardholder, portfolio, laptop sleeve, soft briefcase, satchel, and messenger bag. all in black or cognac, and all for under $500. each item is made from full grain, vegetable tanned leather which is not only superbly durable but develops a handsome patina over time. linjer launched a indiegogo campaign earlier this month, which has already exceeded its original goal, potentially closing the gap in the mens luxury market with a product, judging by initial response, which speaks for itself.

the full line up of linjer products are available via their indiegogo page or at the linjer website. also check out the linjer thread on our supertalk forums for more information or if you have any questions for the founders.
