chicago: zak prekop

based in new york city, artist zak prekop [1979] has increasingly gained the art world's limelight with fluid abstract canvases that also have an seemingly three-dimensional graphic quality at the same time. the latter is a signature trait of sorts, as he effortlessly applies both transparency and voids to create variations of depths in his work. opening today [1pm-3pm] at shane campbell gallery in chicago is prekop's fourth solo exhibition in the city, and it's taking place at the gallery's main location on south wabash avenue. on display in the venue's voluminous and light-filled hangar is a body of new work that comprises entirely of a large-scale canvases [on through oct 22]. location: 2021 south wabash avenue [near south side].
