simon deporres is a quirky menswear label based in cape town. led by simon pocock and mpilo deporres ngcukana, the duo make garments that could be best described as contemporary classics, made from high quality, locally sourced fabrics and with an emphasis on comfort and fit. taking their operations to a new level, the guys have recently opened a combined retail space, studio and showroom that enables them to create a better relationship with customers and move swiftly back and forth between the store and studio. called superior goods, the new homebase has a downtown location and features a stylish low-key interior that was crafted by the brand's founders and their friends and family.

the shop façade is dipped in a deep black hue, contrasting with the much lighter palette inside. pristine white walls are paired with the building's original concrete floor and only a few simple but well-chosen furnishings. the design is high on d.i.y., most evident in the sales counter and fitting booth which are constructed from salvaged materials and give the store a rather cool edge. superior goods carries simon deporres current collection of menswear but the store has a flexible concept which means that other - and compatible - menswear products and brands could be complementing the current offerings anytime soon. location: 69 roeland street [cbd].
