an exceptional show has arrived at faena arts center in buenos aires, one that previously has only been hosted in moscow and berlin. called the liminal space trilogy, it presents the trilogy of videos made between 2007 and 2011 by russian art collective aes+f. the trilogy is called consisting of last riot, the feast of trimalchio and allegoria sacra, they're in fact work alternative versions respectively of hell, paradise and purgatory, and reaffirm the artists’ programmatic intention to cast light on the incongruities of modernity and the paradoxical relationship of indifference and devotion, the real and the virtual, tradition and rupture.

interestingly, the literary script has been traded in for a graphic one that makes use of an image bank containing over 100,000 digital images. each of the group scenes is a result of the painstaking preparation of contemporary tableaux vivants: gestures and positions, clothing and accessories, and also colours and shining. the images are them projected onto large format screens, and depending on the video, any anomaly that slips through is blown up to conspicuous proportions [on through jun  24] location: calle aimé paine 1169 [puerto madero].
