idol is the new venture of retail stalwarts alex kasavin and wei du of graymarket, and daniel franco, the co-founder of stylezeitgeist magazine. the store is located in an emerging retail corridor of brooklyn and offers a personally curated stock list which is not only made up of brands that the three owners love and are passionate about, but also very unique to this part of new york city. the tightly curated and coherent range of brands includes rick owens, rick owens drkshdw, raf simons, guidi, guidi & rosellini, juun.j, hender scheme, cav empt, human made, and neighborhood. idol's retail space has a victorian feel with a high white intricate ceiling, beautifully polished black wooden floors, stunning vintage doors and window frames, and sparse use of interior fit out. the enormous windows that make up the whole street-facing façade bathe this hidden retail gem in floods of daylight. location: 101 metropolitan avenue [williamsburg north].
