conceptualized by owners michael ashley and alan sommerville, the newly opened atelier akeef store - a tweaked version of the duo's previous shop in kreuzberg - has already carved itself a niche position in berlin's popular mitte district. catering to a style-conscious male demographic, the store exclusively carries high-quality brands which incorporate sustainability in their creative vision. this specific preference is also translated to the store interior: clean, simple and high on d.i.y. chic, it's crafted from upcycled wood, sustainable clay and even non-toxic colorants, creating a friendly, one-of-a-kind setting.

the apparel collections are presented at the front of the store against a backdrop of prussian blue and repurposed timber. accessories are presented upon reclaimed industrial trolleys and locally sourced slate. the changing rooms with wooden japanese sliding doors and the homey seating area in the back add up to atelier akeef's unique retail setting. the store may only carry sustainable brands, but this doesn't mean it cuts backs on style...no, sir! a carefully curated list of fashion-forward men's labels from across the planet is stocked, including cool pieces by maharishi, shwood sunglasses, shabby-chic jackets by atelier awash, kings of indigo denim and bags by faguolocation: max beer strasse 31 [mitte].
