amsterdam: harvest & co. store opening

sourced and sold is a little store in amsterdam's scenic canal district that carries select industrial vintage goods, ranging from chairs and tables to light fixtures and apparel items. although presented in an appealing and stylish setting, the location's rather compact size put limitations to the ambitions of owners jeroen woltman and denise van gastel. and then one day the duo - former veterans in media and retail respectively - had been tipped off premises that turned out to be quite compatible with what they had in mind. the outcome is harvest & co., a hybrid retail concept that has been operational now for a little while. woltman and van gastel not only expanded their business at this new location - originally home to a butcher from the early 20th century and boasting the obvious utilitarian charm - but also invited compatible entrepreneurs to join the harvest & co. fold.

the in-house coffee parlour run by headfirst coffee roasters and has proved to be hit with the neighbourhood crowd and fans of quality black liquid from across town, and adds a lively buzz to the premises. mind you, this place is ideal for early birds as it opens at 7am on weekdays and serves tasty breakfast bites. the setting obviously is one of industrial vintage with many of harvest & co.'s trophy items doubling as props. a separate room next door has been designated as exhibition and events space that can be rented. peeking through the windows behind the coffee bar one can spot additional retail space which was previously occupied by a tenant and will be given a new purpose shortly. location: tweede helmersstraat 90-96 [oud west].
