a recently launched municipal policy obliges amsterdam's red light district to tone down its reputation of notoriety and sleaze, but this remarkable transformation also comes surprising new treats. a recent addition to the neighbourhood's retail landscape is a quirky pop-up store, collectively launched by fraternal artist duo jake and dinos chapman a.k.a. the bad boys of the brit contemporary art scene, galerie gabriel rolt, and design consultancy uxus. called f**king hell das shop, the temporary retail space quite appropriately occupies an abandoned massage parlour, and in complicance with the consultancy's art x design directive, leftover objects found on the premises have been put to good decorative use.

the chapman brothers have put their stamp on the place by having their signature smileys adorn the interior, combined with a string of other makeshift interventions with a raw edge. on the shelves of f**king hell as shop is limiited edition merchandise, obviously all designed by the chapmans. the curated goodies include special edition t-shirts, plates, signed books, skateboards, etchings, and even decorated toilet paper. additionally, renowned resident tattoo artist henk schiffmacher is readily available for custom body work [open though may]. location: geldersekade 28 [centrum].
