Fashion brand Acne Studios launched its Acne Paper magazine in 2005 as a clever showcase of its alignment with the eclectic universe of art, culture, history, fashion, and what not. The cult read ran for nine years, was relaunched four years ago, and now, has a physical presence in the heart of Paris. The gallery space, officially named Acne Paper Palais Royal, occupies the former Acne Studios store location in the storied arcade of Palais-Royal, built in the 17th-century as the residence of Cardinal Richelieu. Officially opening its doors on Thu – Jun 26, the space has retained its striking black-and-white marble floor, but features a different configuration, while all walls have been dipped in a solemn dark grey hue. The inaugural of Acne Paper Palais Royal is entitled 2025 Paul Kooiker, featuring a series of 42 portraits of students of Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam by renowned Dutch lensman Paul Kooiker. Mind you, the aforementioned academy is one of two in the Netherlands where Kooiker received his formal training. © superfuture
