Following three stores at home base Zurich and additional retail spaces in Basel, Davos and Lausanne, FREITAG has inaugurated another retail space on home turf in Lucerne. It’s in fact a 100 sqm. (1,076 sq.ft.) pop-up store, situated on the ground floor of the Bourbaki, a cultural centre boasting a bar, library, movie theatre, art gallery and the Panorama Museum. The interior design, created by FREITAG‘s in-house design team, sees plenty of innovative deployment of reusable materials and repurposed construction site utensils, such as recovered plasterboard walls, construction site lights and furniture improvised out of steel frames and old tension belts which create an edgy make-shift atmosphere The absolute eye-catcher is a retired construction-experienced plan stand which has been turned into a checkout counter. So, what’s on the shelves? The full FREITAG range of bags and accessories will be available, with around 1,500 upcycled one-offs, obviously all crafted from truck tarp (open through July 2026). © superfuture
