The Saint Laurent store in Miami‘s ever-evolving Design District first opened its doors to much fanfare in 2016. Recently, the retail space once again gained the limelight because of a striking revamp which features the new retail design codes as laid down by the brand’s longtime creative director Anthony Vaccarello. Needless to say, the interior renewal is inspired by city’s increasing stature as a luxury shopping destination which pulls a well-heeled clientele from across the planet. Vaccarello’s new retail aesthetic pairs raw materials with polished surfaces in meticulously calibrated settings which are, quite intriguingly, both formal and homey at the same time. The palette is accordingly varied and abundant, albeit in a restrained manner, and includes a backdrop of corduroy concrete walls, terrazzo floors, glazed blue ceramic tiles and custom-made carpets.

The carefully sourced furnishings are similarly eclectic, and the expansive premises are dotted with highly coveted vintage trophies by leading designers from across the planet, including Charles & Ray Eames, Pierre Jeanneret, George Nakashima, Mario Botta and Gaetano Pesce. Additionally, a series of artworks, ranging from antique pieces to contemporary works by Mexican artist Jose Dávila further elevate the shopping experience. A monumental swirling starcaise in black timber leads to the upper floor where no less than two V.I.P. salons with outdoor terraces are situated—after all, this is Miami. The renewed Saint Laurent store carries the brand’s women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, bags, small leather goods,, shoes, eyewear and jewellery pieces. © superfuture
