Next level luxury shopping isn’t for the faint-hearted. You’ve got to bring your A-game, and most importantly, the deepest of pockets. We’re talking Bottega Veneta‘s effort to redefine luxury shopping by creating highly exclusive, appointment-only retail spaces. Following the inauguration of a so-called Residence on the premises of the 15th-century Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel in Venice, the Milan-based fashion house has just inaugurated a similarly super exclusive shopping haven in New York City. Situated right on top the existing Bottega Veneta flagship store on swanky Madison Avenue, which is nestled in a red brick and limestone structure built in 1920, the Residence boasts various alluring apartment-like settings which have been meticulously designed by Bottega Veneta‘s creative director Matthieu Blazy and the in-house design team.

Mind you, as history would have it, Bottega Veneta opened its very first boutique not in its homeland, but here on this swanky artery, and Blazy has aimed to infuse the new retail space with similar Venetian grandeur. As such, the Residence is dotted with a tightly curated range of trophy design pieces, ranging from a floor lamp by legendary Italian designer Gino Sarfatti and a Murano glass chandelier, to a gondola-shaped sofa by American designer and architect Adrian Pearsall and a radio and turntable by fraternal designers Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni. Unsurprisingly, Bottega Veneta‘s new Residence comes with a string of exclusive offerings, including made-to-order apparel, red carpet apparel, style consultations and collection previews. But that’s not all. Given Bottega Veneta‘s longtime alignment with the arts and culture, the Residence will also host a programme of cultural events. © superfuture
