At long last, Gentle Monster has entered Japan‘s retail arena with a shop-in-shop at Hankyu Umeda, arguably the leading luxury department store in Osaka. Perched on the third floor, the setting features an interior design by the brand’s in-house design team in Seoul. A giant kinetic head, encased in glass and which debuted last year at the Gentle Monster shop-in-shop at Selfridges in London, anchors the retail space and lures shoppers with uncanny mimicry. The hi-tech installation is flanked by chunky metal and mirror-clad cabinets with backlit shelving laden with merchandise. The new Gentle Monster shop-in-shop stocks the brand’s full range of optical frames and sunglasses, including the newly released Gentle Monster BOLD 2 Collection.
