Following the launch earlier this year of an online store, Bisque Golf founders Ido de Voos, Marc van Dodewaard and Cheng Liem Li take their operations to a new level by opening a retail space in Amsterdam. The entrepreneurs teamed up with local interior design and architecture practice Barde vanVoltt to create a design-led setting that not only reflects the Bisque Golf brand values, but also playfully embeds golf course elements. The Bisque store is situated on Rozengracht, a bustling thoroughfare in Amsterdam’s Canal District, and is only a stone’s throw away from Westerkerk, one of the city’s historic landmark buildings. The retail space measures 85 sqm. (915 sq.ft.) spread across the ground floor and a mezzanine level of a brick residential building erected in 1904.

A large front bay window, used both as seating and as display space, allows floods of daylight into the lofty front section. The flooring, marked by a sinuous pattern and a juxtaposed use of timber and Japanese Raven tiles, is a playful nod to the greens. The latter material seamlessly extends into the two fitting rooms and also covers the sides of both a display and sales counter, emphasizing a keen eye for detail. One side of the ground floor sees a sizeable display wall, vertically compartmentalised and captured by hardboard and lacquered veneer, and it’s mirrored directly opposite by a less intricately constructed display. Large windows at the back of the Bisque Golf store provide ample views of an understated Zen-inspired backyard which will open coming Spring.

The newly installed mezzanine sees a similar aesthetic. Furnished with a large tiered display with built-in fridge, the space doubles as a gallery and event space. An outdoor terrace serves as a seamless extension of this space when weather permits, offering full views of the landscaped garden below. Here, Bisque Golf will host a variety of golf-related events, such as product launches, training clinics and food clinics. Beside aiming to become a thriving hub, the Bisque Golf store will also stage a series of branded golf tournaments for its community of kindred players. Bisque Golf stocks a curated range of apparel, footwear and accessories for both professional golf aficionados and leisure players by leading brands, including Malbon, Sunspel, Nike, Footjoy, J.Lindeberg and Cole Haan. Additionally, Bisque Golf will regularly release collaborative items with select brands.
