Few fashion reads come with plenty of refreshing quirk and yet an edge as sharp as 032c. Founded in Berlin in 2000 as a magazine by Joerg Koch, 032c has since gained a global cult following while also spawning a streetwear brand run by his partner Maria Koch. In the past, the duo initially managed an exhibition space, aptly dubbed Vitrine, in the German capital, and it eventually evolved into a number of nomadic showcases across town and elsewhere, in addition to retail endeavours. Fast forward to 2022, and the 032c Workshop opens its doors on one of the main arteries of the city’s leafy Charlottenburg neighbourhood. The retail space is designed by the husband-and-wife team in collaboration with local practice Davide Rizzo Architects and features a street-facing exhibition space dipped entirely in 032c‘s signature red hue and, situated right behind, a separate space with tiered wall shelving laden with products. The exhibition space sees a programme of showcases, kicking off with an installation by Los Angeles-based multi-tasking creative Sterling Ruby of a special capsule collection from his S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. fashion brand that was especially created for the store opening.
