Leave it to Hedi Slimane to assemble an in-depth visual anthology of rock music. The elusive Frenchman with global cult status currently holds the creative reigns of luxury fashion house Celine, and since his arrival inn 2018, he has continuously tweaked its brand image like no one else can. Slimane’s Portrait of a Musician photo series, which depict a growing number of his preferred music heroes, has certainly lend the brand a new artistic edge. Following Gus Dapperton, Leikeli47, Lisa, and Hennessey, Celine has released imagery of the latest musician who has joined the ranks—musician, songwriter and former White Stripes lead singer Jack White. The series of both black + white and colour photographs have been shot last December in Los Angeles, Slimane’s adopted hometown since 2008.
