Pucci is back! Well, sort of. The storied fashion brand was founded in 1947 by Italian aristocrat Emilio Pucci, gained a global following with bold colour-infused prints and elegant, resort-ready silhouettes. Following a string of notable designers who took over the creative reigns after Pucci passed away and his daughter took on a different role in the company, owner LVMH stepped up and tapped Camille Miceli as the luxury brand’s new creative honcho. Miceli’s appointment has been widely seen as a major reboot of Pucci, but also one that aims to push the brand back into the global limelight. The first collection of the brand’s new French-Italian creative director, aptly dubbed La Grotta Azzurra, which is a firm nod to the fashion brand’s very cradle—the historic resort island of Capri. Miceli has tapped right into the tiny island’s stature as a glamorous, fun-loving Mediterranean retreat and all the bells and whistles that come with it, resulting in an ultra-contemporary collection that resonates well with the eclectic palate of today’s fashion-savvy crowd.

Interestingly, Pucci‘s iconic motifs are meticulously reworked in a dazzling mix-and-match of patchwork or all-encompassing enlarged or downsized pattern, and paired with a brand new design process, and as such, allowing the brand to acquire new and much needed pizzazz. Miceli presents long caftans and kimonos made of supple, fluid materials—cotton voile, silk chiffon, drill, stretch jerseys, towelling. Additionally, there are foulard mini-skirts, shorts and trousers with extra-large flower patterns. The Pucci collection’s forward stance is also captured by a gender-fluid approach in some of the pieces. Coinciding with the new collection, a new logo has been revealed that’s inspired by the archival 1953 Capri Sport label, featuring an intertwined dual fish shaped as an emblematic P. Pucci‘s S/S 2022 Collection is available at the brand’s very own boutiques and select stockists across the planet, but can also be purchased online.
