A blast from the past with an irreverent playfulness and outspoken style that fully align with the eclectic fashion and lifestyle sensibilities of forward crowds. We’re talking l.a.Eyeworks, the iconic eyewear brand founded in 1979 by Gai Gherardi and Barbara McReynolds, and pretty much ruled the optical universe for a full decade straight by way of cool designs and an iconic ad campaign that rallied more than 200 famous, gorgeous and interesting faces from across the entertainment industry and far beyond. Each face, shot in black and white by lauded photographer Greg Gorman, obviously featured an l.a.Eyeworks frame and accompanied by the equally iconic tagline ‘A face is like a work of art. It deserves a great frame’. Fast forward to 2022, and l.a.Eyeworks gains new momentum with its new Spring/Summer collections. The limited-edition sunglasses collection signals a deep house blend, fusing affectionate nods to archetypes with extravagant new ideas for statement silhouettes that sizzle with radiant patterns and compelling colour. The optical collection is more elaborate, and next to putting functionality first, there’s a similar fun-infused approach to design. Designs from the l.a.Eyeworks Spring/Summer 2022 collections can be purchased from the brand’s two boutiques in Los Angeles and a large number of official depositories in cities stateside and across the planet.
