These days, Louis Vuitton is better known for its bags and apparel, but when the luxury behemoth started out in 1854, beautifully crafted trunks and suitcases were the star products. The company still makes them, and demonstrates this legacy with a new trophy product, created in partnership with the Automobile Club de Monaco, at the historic Louis Vuitton atelier in Paris. We’re talking the first-ever Fomula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco trunk, and it’s currently on display at the Louis Vuitton store in Amsterdam to celebrate Dutchman Max Verstappen‘s victory of this year’s Grand Prix de Monaco edition. Obviously, the trunk reflects the luxury brand’s craftsmanship, but also clearly features elements inspired by the iconic car racing event. The iconic Monogram canvas is adorned with the red shade of the Monegasque flag, while the white lines tracing the ‘V’ for victory, are rimmed with a white strip reminiscent of the rather unique urban route of the track. And what’s good to know for avid fans of the event, the tailor-made trunk holds the trophy depicting all the 19 turns of the 3,337-kilometre race track. The showcase is held at the Louis Vuitton boutique for a limited time only.
