Well-rooted in the Bangkok with a string of standalone boutiques, Club21 is considered a true custodian of coveted brands by a young demographic of discerning city dwellers. While most are branded stores, the Singapore-based retailer also flaunts its fashion curation expertise in a number of multi-brand spaces, and as of late, a new addition in the latter category has opened at Gaysorn Village, an upscale shopping centre and office complex in the city’s Pathumwan area. The store occupies a 222 sqm. (2,390 sq.ft.) glass-encased unit on the G Floor, rubbing shoulders with stores of leading brands from the fashion and lifestyle industry, such as Rimowa, Boyy and Comme des Garçons. The interior design, created by Club21‘s in-house design team, alludes to the fact that this is a multi-brand men’s store, and as such, the aesthetic is understated. The bare ceiling with meandering utility pipes is overlaid with a grid of tubular lights, and combined with tile flooring and both stuccoed and timber walls, the setting oozes a subtle industrial vibe. Furnishings comprise black metal clothing racks and shelving, and ottomans, complemented with a large communal table and metal structure to display accessories, shoes and lifestyle goods. As said, the new Club21 store is exclusively dedicated to menswear, offering a tightly curated selection of fashion-forward brands, including Amiri, Thom Browne, Dries Van Noten, Heron Preston, Rick Owens and OAMC.

Publishers Note
Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
