The ever-evolving retail empire of Comme des Garçons has once again spawned an alluring new retail space, and this time it’s at home base Paris. The location, on one of the most prestigious shopping arteries in the City of Light, had been occupied by its Trading Museum Comme des Garçons retail concept for almost a decade, and is now home to a brand new format called Dover Street Little Market. Inspired by the fashion brand’s revered and hugely influential Dover Street Market concept store, it’s the second spin-off in the city since Dover Street Parfums Market was launched two years ago. The new shop occupies two adjacent ground floor spaces in the same concealed courtyard where the Comme des Garçons flagship store is situated. Similarly eclectic as the full-fledged Dover Street Market concept stores, but on a much smaller scale, the premises of Dover Street Little Market are a blank canvas – read: pristine white walls and and exposed concrete floor – which easily allow an ongoing rotation of brand showcases. At the opening of the store, an intriguing mix of brand installations can be found of ERL, Honey Fucking Dijon, Liberal Youth Ministry, PACCBET, Vaquera, Weinsanto and Youths in Balaclava.
