Following the opening of a dedicated VEJA store in Paris last November, the sustainable sneaker brand has crossed the big pond to open a second retail space in New York City‘s Soho neighbourhood. The company secured a retail space of approx. 250 sqm. (2,691 sq.ft.) on Mulberry Street and features a pared back aesthetic which was created with local architect Paul van der Grient of local architecture practice WXY. Similar to the store in the French capital, the setting here sees exposed brick walls, alternated with stuccoed sections, and paired with timber flooring. Upon entering the premises, shoppers go up a short flight of stairs and encounter a small installation of sorts which elaborated on VEJA‘s eco-friendly brand values. On the other side, a sneaker wall can be found below an intricate neon light installation by Brazilian musicians and artists Kleber e Matheus. In fact, the duo created two pieces for the retail space. The back of the store sees a pristine white horizontal shelf which seemingly cuts through red bricks. Right below, lining the entire wall, a display is situated, featuring more VEJA sneaker models. Additional furnishings comprise of matching low benches and window displays. The new VEJA store carries the brand’s full range of sneakers for men, women and kids. Additionally, the store will host a rotating programme of events.
