To most outsiders, Bali is just one big exotic playground. But behind the successful marketing format, a different has slowly emerged that may one day become the sunny island’s next trump card. Anticipating the blossoming local creative scene is Genesis Creative Centre, a multi-disciplinary co-working studio just north of popular Kuta Beach. It’s the latest venture of Tarun Melwani, co-owner of the urban cool Bisma Eight boutique hotel in the artisans’ town of Ubud, featuring five creative studios where art, fashion, photography, music, and design are paired with flexible co-working spaces and a meeting room. Situated at Tamora Gallery, a modern lifestyle shopping arcade, it’s a full-fledged facility, set up in collab with thriving local businesses Pioneer, Attila & Co, Pondok Lensa and Vivere, that aims to facilitate ambitious creatives with all of their endeavours.
