It looks like Jil Sander has got its mojo back. The Milan-based fashion house is once again showing its creative force to the fullest with the launch of Jil Sander+, a seasonal men’s and women’s collection dedicated to venturing out of the city and into the mountains, woods, or perhaps for a social call to your grandmother. Spawned from the minds of Lucie and Luke Meier, the brand’s husband-and-wife creative directors who have a clear penchant for the outdoors and all related activities, the line predominantly features unisex pieces. As such, the garments are marked by functionality and honest fabrics, performance and often organic, and some are created with companies that bear the creative directors’ sign of approval, such as Mackintosh. The British heritage brand has been selected to create the inaugural collection of Jil Sander+, featuring both outerwear and accessories that embed its unique and age-old expertise on bonded rubberized fabric. Interestingly, the collection also includes denim pieces, using not only fabric from Japan, but the line is also produced there. And that’s still not all. The Jil Sander+ collection also includes perfect items for colder climes, including down jackets, capes, knitwear, packable outerwear in performance fabrics, parkas, trench coats, jersey, and accessories.
