There’s no doubt, Loewe is in a roll. In fact, the Spanish brand has been making waves since British wunderkind Jonathan Anderson took over the creative reigns in 2013. And now, at this month’s Paris Fashion Week, his talent culminates in Loewe‘s presentation of its A/W 2019 Men’s Collection. Held at the imposing Maison de l’UNESCO, the runway was adorned by a luminous cotton sculpture by the German artist Franz Erhard Walther (1939) which stems from his performative practice, and not only encouraged the viewer to interact with its wardrobing elements, but also references the new collection. The overall style is blatantly hybrid, mashing up tailoring with elements taken form the world of team sports. It’s fair to say that most looks aren ‘t for the faint at heart, and instead accommodate the more confident male to make a statement. An eclectic palette of materials such as tufted shearling, stamped croc, and pastel leather quilting adds to the unbridled quirkiness of the collection. Shown here are eleven looks from Loewe‘s A/W 2019 Men’s Collection that we particularly like. Show location: Maison de lUNESCO, 7 place de Fontenoy (Grenelle).
