File transfer service WeTransfer has a strong affiliation with the creative world, and the upcoming show at the Aperture Foundation in New York City – mind you, it’s in fact a collab effort of the two – is indicative of this. Entitled Refocus, the exhibition opens Mon – Sep 10 (the opening reception is held the next day) and presents the work of Siân Davey, Janet Delaney, and Joe Nishizawa, three mid-career photographers who were provided grants by WeTransfer. Each received a USD 10,000 grant to produce new work which explores physical and psychological landscapes. New work by Davey and Nishizawa will debut at the exhibition, and a series from the 1980s by Delaney will be exhibited for the first time in New York City. The three photographers come from different continents, contexts, and professional backgrounds, but all use photography as a way to explore and understand the world around them, providing a fresh and nuanced perspective on space, relationships, and the effect of the built environment. Following the exhibition, the works of the three photographers will also be presented on WeTransfer’s digital platform.
