Maxime Passadore doesn’t exactly shy away from trying out news things. The French digital artist and experimental photographer is a wizard when it comes to creating imagery, and his upcoming show at LAPAIX gallery in Paris is another exemplary demonstration of both his skills and creative vision. Elaborately entitled Genesis – A Transhumanist Odyssey, it’s a collab effort with Ground Effect gallery, and celebrates the 160th anniversary of Franco-Japanese diplomatic relations. The exhibition opens Fri – Jun 1 (6pm – 10pm), and on display are analog photography mixed with glitch and digital art, and all part of an experimental digital art project that was first initiated in 2015. Passadore’s inspiration comes from the cyberpunk universe and techno utopian societies, and as such, the show is also a firm nod to Transhumanism, a movement which has an intellectual approach to transform the human condition by developing and making widely available sophisticated technologies to enhance human intellect and physiology. The artworks explore a conceptual future of humanity, the place of reality in a full technological universe, where the border between human and machine are provokingly blurred und unclear.
