As a leading global hub of luxury lifestyle, Paris isn’t short of tony dining spots. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, and with so many options to choose from, the local hospitality scene is in a constant flux and thus continuously providing refined palates with plenty of options. In the latter category falls Le Collectionneur, the newly opened restaurant on the premises of L’Hôtel du Collectionneur, a legendary Art Déco hotel which regained its former glory and stature two years ago through new ownership by Andréa et Edouard Cohen. The fraternal team, operating respectively as director and architect, teamed up with a third partner, their uncle and interior designer Alexandre Danan, to increase the property’s appeal, resulting in a setting and menu that aim for the stars.

The interior design obviously extrapolates the hotel’s original design codes, but does so in a distinctly contemporary way, captured by a rich palette that includes marble, sandstone, and velvet. A corridor, featuring undulating, backlit wall decorations, hints lies beyond. Le Collectionneur has palatial dimensions, seating a total of 240 guests, among which 150 diners, across three different sections. Furnishings comprise of round and square tables, paired with chair and sofas clad in green and yellow velvet, and carpeting with a striking stained motif in matching hues. The restaurant also comes with a small bar on one side of the premises and a patio for al fresco dining when weather permits. At the helm of Le Collectionneur are chefs Joël Veyssière et Nicolas Amelin who offer a seasonal lunch and dinner menu, featuring cosmopolitan fare prepared with a subtle Japanese twist.
