Deftly defying the Calvinist principles that still rule most of the Netherlands, the southern town of Maastricht has long been a refuge of sorts for those seeking to indulge in the finer things in life, including shopping. Needless to say, the city boasts a number of well-assorted high-end boutiques, and obviously, it’s fertile ground for luxury brands. And now, for the very first time, Louis Vuitton has come to town to pitch in with alluring new offerings of its own. The Paris-based luxury behemoth has set up a pop-up store on the premises of department store de Bijenkorf, showcasing coveted items of its A/W 2023 Men’s Pre-Collection. Situated on the ground floor, the ephemeral space boasts a setting that’s inspired by the desert rally, and offers an expansive selection of Louis Vuitton men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories, and also fragrances (open through Oct 31). The Louis Vuitton pop-up store is part of a series of ephemeral spaces at the department store, and also includes showcases by luxury peers Gucci and Saint Laurent.
