products

fromage et jambon baguette, champignon omelette and steak frites are my choice picks - or a nicoise salad [no anchovy, no olives] coffee is overpriced and mediocre. pastry shop overrun by middle aged housewives and super high calorie...not bad though. also a restaurant next door Ð good but a bit expensive and often busy.

clientele

surgically enhanced expats, embassy types, clubbers, tourists, modules, dealers, fashion types, assorted eurotrash, worldcup hooligans, etc.... Ð a big soufflŽ.

interior

teleported direct from paris. scary.! this place also looks like it has been here since 1965 Ð though it's actually only about 7 years old... the walls and posters have that greased out smoked a few too many gitanes look...

[*** UPDATE 05.2003 CLOSING - EEEK! ...]institutional french café tokyo. more french than paris. you can sit here all day and watch assorted harajuku flora and fauna. best on weekends all year round [rain, sun, sleet, snow, typhoons] jaded often cute waiters. last weekend [04.2000] put foot in a plastic dog bowl left under the table. avoid during world cup or public holidays [06.2002]... or closing parties [05.2003!]
