well just don't come over chinese new year as the hotel restaurant, bar and room service are out of action...
plenty of limed oak walls, ceiling and floors, and rich textured surfaces. dark corridors, moody black glass. it all works though a bit over designed in places. very enclosed and not for the claustrophobic. i went to open the full length curtains expecting a great view of taipei, but instead got a solid brick wall. eventually i found a window on the opposite side of room. phew. this used to be an old karaoke building but you would never know it. 24 hour lounge for guests with free food and drinks.

sharp little hotel and superfuture favorite when we stay in taipei. designed by local architect ray chen, who also designed the equally impressive eslite store in xinyi. the location is pretty central and just 2 MRT stops from the central city airport [songshan] if you happen to be able to fly into it.
