A little while ago, Acne Studios inaugurated its first store in Singapore, and as it happens, also the first outpost in the heart of Southeast Asia. The Stockholm-based brand secured a ground floor unit at Marina Bay Sands, arguably the city’s leading luxury shopping centre, flanked by the boutiques of high-end peers Jimmy Choo, Dior, Fendi and Tory Burch. The glass-encased store sees an interior design created by creative director Jonny Johansson in collaboration with Swedish architect and longtime collaborator Christian Halleröd. In sync with all of Acne Studios‘ other boutiques across the planet, the elongated space is clean and understated, featuring a modular range of glass and shiny metal panels lining the window filled with hand-dyed fabrics by London-based designer Max Lamb who also created a compatible range of furnishings. Clothing and other merchandise are showcased on sleek steel clothing racks and glass and steel shelving units. The minimalist light fixtures have been designed by Paris-based designer and artist Benoît Lalloz. The new Acne Studios store carries a selection of the brand’s men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, bags and shoes.

Publishers Note
Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
