fierce meat + fish dishes piled with rice/veges/banana chips + phenomenal home-made juices.
lots of kaftans, head wraps, braids, thick accents, taxi drivers, us and a few local thugs in du rags and bomber jackets.
non-descript ground floor of harlem apartment building strewn with plastic tables, garden seats, lace doylies, granny ornaments and faux fleurs in glazed art deco vases. self-service drinks fridge and dubious bathroom. very fabulous.

soulful senegalese cuisine in the heart of harlem. (just round the corner from the apollo theatre 8th ave 121 st) this place is a choice superfuture discovery...nothing is over $7, no one speaks english, widescreen senegalese satellite tv, the chefs are all palm readers and you get more food on one plate than you're likely to eat in a week...genius.
